Acting Director and Commissioner of Health, City of St. Louis Department of Health
Melba R. Moore, MS, CPHA is currently the Commissioner of Health and Acting Director for the City of St. Louis Department of Health. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Webster University and a Master of Science degree in Health Management from Lindenwood University. She has a certificate of completion in Management from the John F. Kennedy School of Government for State and Local Executives and has been approved by the Public Health Practitioner Certification Board as a Certified Public Health Administrator. In addition, Commissioner Moore was the recipient of 2009 Dr. Nathan Davis Award for Outstanding Government Services.
She has over 20 years’ experience in executive leadership and management in the public sector. Her areas of focus include program assessment, development, quality assurance and policy development. She also possesses advanced knowledge of health administration, with a particular sensitivity to policy issues of concern to public health, women, children and minorities.
