About Karen Bradshaw, MSW
Karen Bradshaw, MSW, has been with the IHN since October 2010 and currently serves as the Director of the Care Transitions Initiative (CTI). She has the privilege of supervising a talented team of 12 CRCs at 9 different hospital sites. The CRC team encounters about 20,000 patients each year in area Emergency Department and hospital inpatient units working to ensure access and transition to outpatient care after discharge. Prior to this role, Karen worked as the CRC at SSM St. Mary’s Health Center for four years. She graduated with a B.A. in US Foreign Policy from American University and has a Masters in Social Work from Georgia State University. Karen has over 20 years of experience working in nonprofits both in the United States and abroad and has focused most of her work on program development and management. Karen started a Fair Trade nonprofit organization in 2006 focused on working with artisans in developing countries, specifically Peru, Nicaragua and Cameroon.
Karen has a strong commitment to her community and the pursuit of social justice and equity. In her free time, Karen coaches elementary and middle school soccer and is the proud mother to 3 children.
