About Kim Bakker
Kim Bakker is responsible for the overall coordination of civic affairs in the metropolitan St. Louis area. The role of civic affairs within SSM is to develop and foster relationships with community leaders and elected officials throughout the region, and to serve as the listening post in the community to determine collaborative opportunities that strengthen the community as a whole.
Kim’s previous professional experience is in the field of fund development, event planning, and volunteer management for several area charities, including the Leukemia Society of America, the Arthritis Foundation, and the American Heart Association. Kim holds a BA in Communication from St. Louis University and an MS in Communication from Lindenwood University.
Kim serves on numerous community and civic boards, including North County Inc., Generate Health, Valley Industries, Habitat for Humanities and is the current board chair for United Services for Children and Valley Industries. She is a member of the Florissant Rotary Club and Integrated Health Network. She is the past Chairwoman of North County Inc. and the Maryland Heights Chamber of Commerce; and a past board member of the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce and the Northwest Chamber of Commerce.
Kim and her husband Mark have a 14-year old son and reside in the city of St. Charles.
