Community Health Worker Workforce Partnership:

organizations to crowd source ideas to address the long-term SDOH impacts on the community
as a result of the health and economic crisis.
• The St. Louis CHW Coalition is actively tracking and reporting SDOH needs and informing
regional COVID-19 response strategies to ensure they translate and resonate with vulnerable
communities. The IHN is the fiscal agent and incubator support the St. Louis CHW Coalition.
• Integrated Health Network and STL CHW Coalition are working as a collective team with
Regional Health Commission, City of St. Louis Health Dept., St. Louis County Dept of Public
Health, Alive & Well Communities, Emerging Wisdom, Vector Communications and Dr. Punch to
release a public health campaign “Prepare STL.” Community Health Workers, armed with
protective equipment, will mobilize five waves of grassroots outreach to ensure the public is
informed of health safety measures during the COVID-19 outbreak.
IHN Workforce Development Work Group:
• IHN Workforce Development Work Group celebrates a successful health center career event on
March 12 and the recruitment of 8-9 strong candidates with confirmed financial assistance for
the shared Medical Assistant training cohort. While the work group has decided to postpone the
start of the MA Cohort, it intends to maintain project momentum to the extent possible while
being respectful of the current demands placed on health centers and human resources
personnel. The need for well-trained Medical Assistants will not diminish and may be even more
critical in the future.
