About Jane Schaefer
Jane Schaefer is the Group Manager in the Office of Community Health Improvement at BJC HealthCare. Currently Jane co-leads the Access to Outcomes effort supporting infrastructure building for addressing gaps in access to healthcare in addition to providing regional leadership in support of community efforts addressing access to care, equity and disparities are some of the main aspects of the work..
Jane joined the Information Technology group at BJC HealthCare in 1991. Throughout Jane’s career, she has garnered skills in various Information Technology platforms and services, however, has always been keenly interested in business. In 2010 Jane led a large community effort with the St. Louis Integrated Health Network planning and implementing a regional health information exchange. Jane took this experience to Missouri Health Connection (the statewide health information exchange). In 2015 Jane became Interim Chief Executive Officer of the St. Louis Integrated Health Network to provide leadership during a time when the CEO was formulating the Ferguson Commission report. Upon returning to BJC in 2016 Jane has been leading and partnering in several key community efforts.
Jane holds a Bachelor of Science degree as well as a Master’s in Business Administration from Maryville University. Jane has two children and four grandchildren.
