About Atara Estes
Atara started with the IHN December 2016 and currently works as a Community Health Worker with the RE-LINK Program. She has a St. Louis Community College Certification as a Community Health Worker(CHW) and received the 2016 Newsletter Remix Award for Best Advocate for Domestic Violence. Her area of interest and expertise lie in behavioral health and as a crime victim advocate. Atara serves on the RE-LINK Health and Social Services Network Task Force. Atara is active in the community by serving as a Crime Victim’s Advocate for St. Louis Domestic Violence Court, an Ambassador speaker for St. Louis Ending Violence Against Women Network (SLEVAWN), a Victim’s Advocate with St. Louis County Domestic and Family Violence Council, and a member and advocate of Love is not Abuse and breaking the cycle for teen dating violence. She is also an empowerment coach and motivational speaker on topics of domestic violence and dating violence.
When asked why she is glad to be a part of the IHN and its commitment to excellence, Atara shares, “I’m glad to be a part of the IHN because of what it stands for, and that is to provide quality care. I’m glad I’m becoming a part of a team of people that is ready to make a difference in a community that is given hope to live a healthier lifestyle.”
