About Joel Crespo
Joel Crespo is St. Louis Integrated Health Network’s (IHN) Manager of Special Projects & Communications. This role aligns IHN’s internal and external strategic communications. His responsibilities include establishing and administering communications, marketing & branding policies, managing office activities & special projects assigned, building & maintaining strategic partnerships, help manage day-to-day planning & business operations, as well as providing administrative support to the executive leadership team.
Before coming to IHN, Joel was the co-founder/operator of the celebrated Filipino American restaurant group Guerrilla Street Food, which included one of the first St. Louis area food trucks along with several restaurant locations throughout the metro area. For 11 years, Joel managed daily operations, while helping organize new and exciting collaborative events with businesses and creators both locally and internationally. He also led fundraising for various charities and sharing Filipino food and culture through events such as the Filipino Night Market, the first ever Filipino Festival in St. Louis, which helped the Ahon Foundation build a school library in Davao, Philippines.
Prior to working in the hospitality field, Joel had a diverse range of experience including office manager for a Los Angeles area promotions company and working as part of the production staff for multiple seasons of the television program “The Drew Carey Show.” Joel has also been a guest food writer for the Riverfront Times and provided communications support for the public relations and marketing firm, Pattan & Co.
Joel earned a bachelor’s degree in electronic media from the School of Media & Public Affairs at The George Washington University in Washington, DC.
